Cassandra Christian, Principal

My name is Cassandra Christian and I have been given the honor to serve as the Principal of Bernshausen Elementary School. I started my teaching career in Georgia and relocated to Texas. I have assisted opening Hassler Elementary as a teacher and Kohrville Elementary as the Assistant Principal. Prior to being appointed as the Principal of Bernshausen, I was the principal of Kohrville.

During my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, reading and watching movies.  I am married to my wonderful husband, Leonard and have two awesome boys, Jaylan and Cameron.

We have an excellent faculty and staff and we can’t wait for you to meet each and every  Bernshausen Bengal! Our school will be a great place to learn.

Alex Alvarenga, Assistant Principal

As a child, when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I always answered, “a teacher”. I feel abundantly blessed to be in a profession that I love. I grew up in Northern New Jersey. My family and I moved to Houston in the summer of 2004. I graduated from Saint Peter’s College in NJ and a few years later obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Lamar University. Before serving as an Assistant Principal, I was a Special Education Case Manager at Theiss and Roth Elementary. In the past, I served as a special education and bilingual education teacher at Kaiser Elementary. I feel honored to be serving as Assistant Principal of Bernshausen Elementary. I am fully committed to assisting faculty, parents and the community in making Bernshausen Elementary the best school for all of our students.

Amber Standley, Assistant Principal

My name is Amber Standley and I am dedicated to the learning community of Bernshausen Elementary School. As a product of Klein ISD, I believe in Klein’s mission: “to develop students to become skillful, active, reflective, self-disciplined, and honorable members of their communities through engaging learning experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.”  Upon graduating from Sam Houston State University, I served Greenwood Forest Elementary as both a classroom teacher and the At Risk interventionist. I received my Masters in Educational Administration through Lamar University, and I look forward to working with administration, staff and parents as an advocate for student success at Bernshausen Elementary.
